Safety Operations Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Operations Specialist to join our team at Famoso Nut Company. The Safety Operations Specialist will oversee the daily implementation of workplace safety programs while applying technical expertise to ensure compliance with safety regulations and minimize risks. This role involves developing safety protocols, conducting inspections, coordinating employee training, and advising management on safety best practices. The ideal candidate will balance hands-on coordination with specialized knowledge to foster a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.DutiesDevelop, implement, and manage safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, and other regulatory standards.Collaborate with departments to integrate safety procedures into daily operations.Conducts training program to all new hires or refreshers as an on needed basis.Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety violations to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.Coordinate safety-related training sessions, including onboarding, refresher courses, and emergency drills.Provide technical guidance and support to employees and managers on safety policies and procedures.Maintain records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, ensuring timely reporting and documentation.Identify and assess potential risks across operations and recommend preventive strategies.Monitor safety equipment and PPE usage, ensuring proper inventory and maintenance.Manage incident reports and develop data-driven strategies to reduce injuries and improve safety outcomes.Track key safety performance metrics and provide regular updates to leadership.QualificationsBachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.Equivalent work experience and relevant certifications may be considered.3-5 years of experience in safety management, operations, or compliance roles.Experience conducting safety audits, training employees, and managing safety programs.OSHA 30-Hour Certification required (or ability to obtain).Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Required Skills/Abilities:Extensive knowledge in safety protocols and emergency preparedness.Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to conduct training.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage employees and management.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to perform detailed inspections and analyze safety data.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.Must be bilingual.
