Our technology integrates advanced inspection hardware and AI analytics software to enhance transparency and certainty within the EV market.Opportunity for Research and Development Hardware EngineerAs an R&D Hardware Engineer on the EVident Battery team, you will be responsible for the technology development, production, and field operation at every stage. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate our ground-breaking hardware and ensure our high industry standards are met. The ideal candidate thrives from working in a technically complex and fast-moving environment and is willing to challenge the status quo.ResponsibilitiesTechnology development: Drive innovation and exploration of new technologies and approaches to improve hardware performance. Perform vibration analysis through physical experiments and finite element analysis (FEA).Product development: Support design, prototyping, manufacturing, and testing involving mechanical and electrical components. Engage in manufacturing operations as part of product and technology development. Product management: document designs, test results, and improvements, maintaining clear and organized records for project tracking and future reference. Manage budgets and timelines to guarantee product excellence and product delivery.Cross-functional team: Support hardware and software engineers for research and development by supplying data and clear documentation.Qualifications:Desired skills: Strong knowledge in vibration analysis, engineering mechanics, mechanical and materials design and testing. Deep comprehension of the material properties and the mechanisms of failure in metals, polymers, and their composites.Hands-on experience in mechanical and material testing using non-destructive methods.Strong proficiency in engineering analysis tools (MATLAB/Python), Finite Element Analysis (Ansys/Abaqus), CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent), data acquisition platform (LabVIEW, Data Acquisition Hardware), and manufacturing operations. Familiarity with battery technology and electric vehicle systems is optional but highly desirable.Strong communication and project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.Requirements:PhD or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Material ScienceCandidate must have at least 2-year full-time experience in a related field.Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances. Own assignments and take full accountability for their success, with the ability to change direction quickly.Compensation: Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
