About the CompanyB2U Storage Solutions, Inc. (B2U) is the leading provider of integrated repurposing services for EV batteries in large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). B2U utilizes its patented EPS technology to deploy EV battery packs without incurring repurposing costs. B2U's BESS are interconnected to the grid, selling energy and grid services into wholesale markets. B2U's energy storage systems have been operational since 2020. B2U's second grid connected energy storage system has been operational since November 2023. A third facility is now being converted from PV to a hybrid BESS facility. B2U is seeking an Engineering Manager to work onsite in Lancaster, CA to support the company's product development and R&D goals. The position will work with the onsite and remote engineering team, as well as interface with operations, product marketing, and project development. The position will also interact with customers, such as automakers with whom B2U works on battery reuse project deployments. The ideal candidate will have experience managing small to medium groups of multidiscipline engineers. Job duties may include, but are not limited toLead engineering teams that develop new products, processes, designs, and improve existing ones. Working with other managers and staff to coordinate work across departments. Ensure that engineering projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the correct specifications. Identify long lead time items and build project schedules around them. Assign development priorities based on customer needs and available resources. Oversee a variety of on-site project deployment activities related to battery system integration, testing, troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance. Participate in system operation, troubleshooting, data analysis, and optimization. Work across multiple projects and capacities using advanced analytical and communication skills. Experience3-7 years of engineering management experience related to product development and/or project development. Experience with large format electric vehicle batteries, electronic controls, power electronics, and/or power generation is a plus. Skills/RequirementsHighly motivated self-starter, hands-on, team player. Excellent planning, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to communicate within the internal team as well as with external teams and businesses throughout project lifecycles. Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, Planner. Familiarity with networking protocols and analyzers (Modbus TCP/IP, FTP, CAN bus) is a plus. Experience with programming languages (Embedded C, C++, Python, HTML, Java Script) is a plus. Experience with ECAD (Altium Designer) and MCAD (Solid Works) programs is a plus. EducationBachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Location:? On-site at Lancaster, CA , as well as remote work
