Battery Engineer

We are seeking a Battery Engineer who will collaborate with the engineering team to design, develop, and qualify batteries according to customer specifications and documentation requirements in line with project timing and budgets. The process includes research and development into parts, materials, and assembly techniques. The engineer will work closely with the engineering team and technicians to execute and deliver existing and new products.Responsibilities:Lead all development phases including design, prototyping, validation, and pilot productionPrepare and present internal and customer facing preliminary and critical design reviewsPlan, develop, and execute Design of Experiment (DOE) for fabrication and testing of batteriesWork closely with engineering team to determine battery design and mechanical characteristicsDevelop processes/tooling for pilot scale manufacturingCoordinate and execute product development trialsSummarize and present respective results, with conclusions, and recommendationsDevelop assembly and process specifications, along with other engineering documentsPerform root cause analysisQualifications: BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related Science or Engineering discipline, MS preferred5+ years' experience in R&D, or Product DevelopmentGood interpersonal and communication skillsAble to contribute to collaborative team environmentSelf-motivated and hands-on. Detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasksUnderstanding of contract data requirements listA plus: Defense or Aerospace industry experienceExperience with battery design, energy storage, power sources, or electrochemistry
