The Rainbow Room, the quintessential New York venue, has been the site of some of the city's most celebrated events since first opening in 1934.We are seeking skilled, passionate professionals who take great pride in delivering unparalleled experiences and who value teamwork, integrity and professional development in a spectacular, world-class setting.Role:The Banquet Operations Manager will oversee the Banquet House Attendant and Public Attendants responsible for the cleanliness of the front of house guest's areas and other back of house areas as needed. In addition, this position will be responsible for coordinating and directing all work assignments in the building to ensure all event spaces and guest areas are properly set up to the highest of standards, for all events that take place at Rainbow Room.This includes keeping all equipment storage areas organized, cleaned, inventoried, and is required to continually train all staff, and control all items managed by the department. This position is responsible for ordering and constant management of all linens, proper storage of equipment, maintaining inventory guidelines and keeping proper par levels at all times. The Banquet Operations Manager will also ensure the costs of items pertaining to the department are consistent within the operations goals and objectives.Key Responsibilities:Plan day-to-day movement and set ups of tables, chairs, movable and stationary buffets and bars, and other equipment pertaining to and needed for an event. Proper ordering of all linens and equipment needed to successfully run an efficient and streamlined department. The position requires a closely managed master plan to successfully coordinate the operational challenges to successfully supervise all event set ups. Maintain the cleanliness of all service areas, hallways, corridors, and storerooms. Report any equipment deficiencies to engineering.Direct the hiring, supervision, scheduling, payroll, development and training of all Banquet House Attendant employees in accordance with establishment standards.Responsible for cost control and the proper storage of all maintenance and cleaning equipment and establish a solid plan of properly budgeting for replacements.Implement and design a quality assurance program. Conduct quarterly inventory of tables, chairs, chemicals, paper, and plastic. A weekly inventory of all linens inventories and consistent monitoring of invoices compared to PO's to assure proper billing. PROFESSIONALISMNot the least of the Operations Manager's responsibilities is to maintain a consistent air of professionalism and extraordinary leadership at all times. Recognizing the intense pressure of the Food & Beverage environment the Beverage Manager has the greatest opportunity to show true leadership by upholding an unfailingly calm demeanor at all times. Working closely with, training and motivating back of house staff, while educating and teaching all front of house employees will ensure the smooth running of Rainbow Room and ensure professional growth by example for employees. The Beverage Manager must exude leadership and professionalism by being resolutely intolerant of issues such as sexual or emotional harassment in all their forms and needs to work in an environment of evenhandedness of all employees. Maintaining leadership and professionalism will be paramount in the professional, financial and personal growth of the Beverage Manager at Rainbow Room.Other things to consider....A significant portion of the work day requires walking and standing for extended periods of time.Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 7 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day, including travelling to and from meetings. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisorsand subordinates.Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.Must be able to perform duties in locations over 60 stories above ground and be comfortable in elevators.The above information is general in nature and level of work expected; it is not intended to be interpreted as an inclusive list of all duties, responsibilities and qualification required of employees assigned to this role.The base compensation range for this role is $70,000- $73,000. This base range reflects a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skill sets, and/or licensure required of an individual in this particular role.
