Essential Functions:Provides nutrition care to high-risk women, infants and children under the supervision of the senior nutritionist, including all aspects of:Anthropometric and hematological data collectionDietary assessment, nutritional risk assessment and food package prescriptionNutrition and breastfeeding counseling and educationDocumentation and data entryReferrals to other health and social servicesFollow-up nutrition educationParticipates in planning, development and evaluation of:Educational materials and group nutrition education sessionsParticipant counseling and education strategiesNutrition in-services and outreach activitiesNutrition policiesCommunicates with health care community on issues pertaining to patient needs.Create healthy diet plans for maternal patients with obesity and chronic care issuesProvides nutrition care for low-risk applicants and participants as needed.Assists in the training of WIC Program Assistants.Participates in quality assurance activities.Required/Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:Bachelor's degree in Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition, Foods and Nutrition, or Nutrition EducationMaster's degree in Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition, or Food and Nutrition preferredRegistration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or licensure with the North Carolina Board of Registration of Dietitians and Nutritionists preferredOne year of experience in clinical or community nutrition preferredDemonstrated leadership and decision-making capabilitiesExcellent communications skillsInterest in nutrition and maternal child healthBilingual Spanish preferred.Preferred previous experience in the North Carolina WIC ProgramCWWCWC is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to inclusion and diversity.
