In this position, you will be responsible for the management of vendors and sourcing raw materials and equipment. This position also manages two Purchasing Coordinators.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, lead, and execute purchasing strategiesGenerate and distribute accurate purchase orders and house budgetsTrack and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectivenessCraft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal termsMonitor and forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier powerMonitor and forecast upcoming levels of demandPerform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarkingAssess, manage, and mitigate risksEstablish standard operating procedures for purchasing; monitor the effectiveness of procedures; revise and improve purchasing processesSeek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliersDetermine quantity and timing of deliveriesExercise discretion and judgmentDraft, review contracts; express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in written formQualificationsBS degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration5+ years' experience in the procurement of raw materials, primarily metals and equipmentdevelopment and review of contractsProven working experience as Purchasing ManagerFamiliarity with sourcing and vendor managementInterest in market dynamics along with a keen business senseSkilled at negotiation and networkingWorking experience of vendor management softwareAbility to gather and analyze data and to work with figuresThis job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of duties and responsibilities required for this job.
