POSITION SUMMARYThe Career Counselor is responsible for providing personal and career counseling to enhance student employability and ensure continued enrollment in the Job Corps program. This role involves developing individualized career educational plans and addressing barriers to student success.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide personal and career counseling for students to enhance employabilityDevelop individualized student career educational plansEnsure confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student dataConduct ongoing assessments of student progress in academic and career technical areasCoordinate services for students to ensure retention and success in the programMentor and establish supportive relationships with students throughout their enrollmentDocument student performance using a case management systemPlan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlinesCollaborate with staff from all departments to provide effective supervision and servicesMaintain appropriate attendance and productivity standardsAbout Brunswick Job Corps CenterThe Brunswick Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology. The Center also provides a nutritious affordably priced lunch to staff.QualificationsBachelor's degree (including at least 15 semester hours in Social Services-related instruction) from an accredited school required. A minimum of one-year experience in counseling or related field. Prefer previous Job Corps or related program experience.
