Position Overview Swineworks is looking for an exceptional leader to direct the operations at a 7,500-sow farm. The Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of production including teaching and developing current staff, maintaining excellent culture, producing high quality pigs, and animal welfare.In this role you should expect to:Be responsible for employee safety, performance, and compliance which includes:Creating and maintaining an excellent employee culture on farmPerformance managementPositive Reinforcement and corrective action for employeesConflict ResolutionAppropriate staffingChampioning farm safetyEmployee trainingEnsure proper daily care of breeding sows and piglets by maintaining appropriate environmental conditions, nutrition and following applicable animal health and biosecurity procedures.Meets or exceed production targets and other KPIs for the farmEnsure appropriate maintenance of farm facilitiesDirect recordkeeping for farm metricsBuild a strong, cohesive team through effective communication, goal setting, and coaching of supervisors on the farmBe the primary conduit of company information to the farm team to maintain compliance with all applicable business regulationsPerform other necessary duties as assignedBuild strong relationships with senior leadership through effective communication and collaboration to support company goalsWhat you will need to succeed in this role:Education or equivalent experienceBS degree in Animal Science strongly preferred but not requiredIn lieu of degree, at least 6 years of experience in swine farm managementAt least 3 years of sow farm management experienceBilingual in English & Spanish preferred but not requiredDemonstrable decision-making and problem-solving skills with independent decision-making abilityDemonstrable analytical aptitudeDemonstrable organization and planning capabilitiesAbility to drive change as well as lead, mentor, and train othersAbility to connect with people throughout all levels of the organizationCollaborative mindsetEffective communication skillsProficient in basic computing skills (Microsoft Office)Self-motivatedHigh-level organizational skills with attention to detail, allowing you to manage a large team and multiple prioritiesValid non-expired Driver's license with clean driving recordPhysical requirements of this role:Ability to stand/kneel/bend/stoop/walk for extended periods of time (8-10 hours a day)Ability to multitaskRepetitive motionsAbility to withstand working in the elementsOperate a company vehicle and maintain an acceptable driving recordAbility to perform clerical work in an office settingMust be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionallyAbility to work in sow farms around livestock and in dusty environmentsWhat's in it for you:• A fast-paced work environment where contributions are recognized• Make a difference in a local, growing company• Comfortable, casual work environment (jeans & cookouts / not stuffy corporate)Swineworks does not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, or any other characteristic protected by law.COMPENSATIONCompany Paid Short Term Disability insuranceCompany Paid Life InsuranceLow cost share on Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance through BCBS of TN401(k)with company match - 50% of 8%Scholarships provided for all dependent children up to age 26Student Loan Assistance - we pay your student loans for youTuition Reimbursement for employeeGenerous Paid time offHolidays & Floating HolidaysPaid Parental LeaveReferral program
