Job descriptionHeadlands Preparatory School has an opening for a Math/Science Teacher (6th-12th) to join our campus in Sausalito beginning immediately. This is a great opportunity to gain teaching experience in a small environment with the support of an involved and dedicated administrative team. Join our fun and supportive community!Headlands Preparatory School is a small private school offering one-to-one and small group classes for middle-school and high-school students. We use a Mastery Learning model to ensure that all students are successful and offer UC-approved courses including honors and AP classes. We are located in a beautiful waterside location in Sausalito.Essential Job Responsibilities:Provide instruction to students in a 1:1 and/or small group setting.Evaluate student progress in courses taught, keep appropriate records, and report student progress to proper administrators.With the assistance of the administrative team, identify student needs and work toward fulfilling those needs.Create and maintain a suitable learning environment.Other Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain professional competence through participation in professional development opportunities.Participate in departmental activities.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree (a teaching credential is a plus, though not required)Teaching/tutoring experienceEnthusiasm and positive spirit.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with students with learning differences (ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, etc.)Benefits:Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insuranceVision insurance
