Production Planner

Utilizes collaborative project management skills to define internal and external manufacturing processes focused on safety, quality, and on-time delivery. Attain efficiency and differentiated performance through cumulative lead-time and processing criteria.The statements included in this description are intended to reflect in general the duties & responsibilities of the classification & are not to be interpreted as being all-inclusive.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESTraining as back up to Production Control ManagerReceives raw material and works alongside Procurement and Quality to address any issues Work alongside Quality, Production and Materials Management to drive the release of work orders as well as monitor all releasable work orders. Assist in all production operations administrative tasks Close out intermediary work orders for the production floor. (when settled in)Serve as back up for the Production Control Manager. (when settled in)Prepare and release travelers, optimizing work orders to meet EOQ valuesPerform other job-related duties as may be assignedQUALIFICATIONSA degree in business administration and/or 4-5 years of production planning experienceExcellent planning and time management skillsExcellent computer literacy skills, data base program experience, and superior Microsoft Excel skills; ability to understand and optimize ERP functionalityExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsMust be able to work in a team environment cordially and effectively, as well as having the ability to drive performance improvementsMust have excellent interpersonal skills Must have strong leadership abilitiesMust exhibit a high level of flexibility with proven multi-tasking skillsMust be able to work with little or no supervisionMust possess good reasoning and problem-solving abilitiesMust possess a basic knowledge of supply chain activitiesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWalking , standing, bending on the production floor
