Their team is committed to excellence and driving the company's success forward.Position Summary: The Controller is a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls within the organization. The Controller will work closely with the CFO/COO and senior management to ensure the financial health of the organization, support strategic decision-making, and drive financial efficiency across multiple dealership locations.Key Responsibilities:Financial Management & Reporting:Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets.Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory requirements.Manage the monthly and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Budgeting & Forecasting:Lead the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.Analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.Work closely with department heads to monitor and manage financial performance, driving cost control and profitability.Internal Controls & Compliance:Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws, including sales tax and income tax reporting.Coordinate and manage annual audits with external auditors.Cash Flow & Treasury Management:Oversee cash flow management, including monitoring and forecasting cash positions.Manage banking relationships and ensure efficient treasury operations, including credit facilities and financing arrangements.Team Leadership:Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for process optimization and automation within the finance function.Provide training and support to dealership managers on financial processes, policies, and best practices.Strategic Initiatives:Support the CFO/COO and executive team in strategic planning initiatives, including acquisitions, divestitures, and expansion plans.Conduct financial analysis to assess the profitability of new ventures and capital investments.Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a controller or similar leadership role.Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) is highly desirable.Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.Compliance: In-depth knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and tax regulations.Personal Attributes: High level of integrity, strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
