The National Pork Board is seeking a dynamic and passionate Vice President, Human Resources. The VP of HR provides overall strategic leadership to the organization in all things related to Human Resources and also serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team where they are expected to provide objective, proactive advice and counsel on all organization decisions. This position will lead a team of six (6) professionals, including one (1) HR Director and five (5) Business Coordinators, delivering critical HR expertise and administrative support to the organization.Responsibilities also include:Advance an intentional culture and engagement journey for both NPB employees and Board of Directors, including administering annual surveys, developing and executing subsequent action plans.Build, lead and evaluate employee performance management and talent development strategy and processes.Design and act as a champion for change initiatives and ongoing human resources policy, procedures and compliance and associated training/education needs.Consistently hire top talent, retain top talent, assist People Leaders and employees in developing individual development plans for staff.Develop performance improvement plans for underperforming employees, as needed.Act as a trusted, positive business partner to Board of Directors, CEO, colleagues and employees alike.Competently and thoroughly deal with HR law, best practices and legal issues.Continually evaluate benefit plans, policies, procedures, best practices in all areas and recommend new ways of work via continuous improvement.Thoroughly understand, or demonstrated ability to learn, the human resources information system (Paylocity).Job Requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree with emphasis on human resources and/or management.Minimum ten (10) years of HR operations with at least five years in a supervisory capacity is required. Extensive generalist human resource experience is necessary.Skills: Proven ability to understand federal and state employment laws and regulations an their interpretation.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with professionals across all levels including employees, supervisors, board of directors, state associations, pork producers and USDA liaison.Ability to be a servant leader to staff and other leaders within the organization.Travel:Must be willing and able to travel by car or air up to 15% of the time, including overnight stays, domestic and/or international travel.Valid driver's license and/or passport required.Application deadline is Monday, November 11, 2024. Ability to work in the office on a hybrid (3 days/week) schedule is required.Full time salary range: $180,000-$200,000Please note: This starting range is based on a general market pay assessment.
