The basic function of this position is to provide Human Resources guidance, leadership, and expertise to both the represented and non-represented workforce at the Shelby and Marion facilities with an overall mission of improving workforce effectiveness. This position focuses on teamwork with a heavy emphasis toward fostering a positive relationship with the Company's represented workforce, i.e., labor relations. Further mission includes fostering change and taking a leadership role in employee development and counseling that helps guide employees to seek improvement. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Position accountable for managing Human Resources department, as well as: issue resolution, coaching/mentoring Salary Team, department goals/metrics, oversight of HR budget, local compensation/HR strategies, benefits, change management, and recruitment strategies for both the Shelby and Marion locationsProvide direction and support to Company managers at the Shelby and Marion facilities relative to Human Resources issues. Human Resources issues has "dual role" responsibility for both hourly and salary personnel, which include salary voluntary and involuntary terminations, salary discipline, training and development, salary exit interviews, and counseling of both hourly and salary employees outside the auspices of a labor agreement.Accountable for administration of salary merit budgets, which includes making recommendations to managers on employee development/promotions.Position responsible for developing the collective bargaining agreement ("CBA") negotiating plan for the Shelby and Marion facilities, which is rolled out to high-level management. Such accountabilities include completion of ArcelorMittal CLA mandates, drafting of new contractual language, researching competitor and industry CBAs, and driving the Company's collective bargaining mandate for a competitive CBA while being a part of both the Shelby and Marion negotiating teamsThis position is also accountable for addressing any issues germane to a labor union and its represented members that includes but is not limited to: terminations, discipline, letters of agreements, arbitrations, settlement of grievances, and resolution of any other issues accompanying a represented workforce.Facilitate focus groups, employee recognition programs, employee "climate" surveys, data analysis, engagement action plansPosition accountable for being legal liaison with corporate and outside counsel for any ongoing legal matters such as compliance or lawsuits against the Company. Position also accountable for knowledge of labor and employment law such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disability Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.Accountable for Human Resources leadership and involvement in special projects as required such as new systems, trainings, and Health and Safety Week.EDUCATION/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Four (4) year degree in a Human Resources related discipline required with a post graduate degree a plus.Must possess strong "people skills" and work well with others. At least five (5) years human resources experience is a MUST preferably in a manufacturing environment.Five (5) years experience in a labor relations intensive environmentApply and support ArcelorMittal Core Values.Excellent communication, planning and organizing skills, and the ability to solve problems.Excellent proficiency in computer technologies.Legal expertise in terms of contractual drafting, Federal, State and Local laws, and knowledge of the legal system is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSCandidate must be available for potential travel, possess the physical ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop and move throughout the plant as needed, sit for long periods of time, perform repetitive movements, occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and possess the ability to hear and speak clearly, in English, in person and over the phone.
