Learn more about us at our website: a Private Asset Fund Accountant, you will join a growing Finance Team dedicated to providing exceptional support across the organization. This role focuses on the accounting responsibilities related to our private asset funds and includes the opportunity to participate in the Finance Team in a broader capacity.As a Private Asset Fund Accountant, your responsibilities include:Manage and validate the work of the third-party administrator including reviewing calculations of investor capital calls/distributions, reviewing underlying investment fund capital activity, monitoring fund expenses and managing review of quarterly portfolio valuations.Assist in the preparation of fund and investor level reports to clients as it relates to private assets.Price and maintain timely records for hedge and private equity holdings using various external pricing resources.Perform timely reconciliations and reports regarding Net Asset Values.Oversee the cataloging of underlying investment fund documents related to capital calls, distributions, quarterly reports, etc.Review and validate partner allocations and reporting.Manage the cash flow forecast, treasury process and credit facilities for the funds.Communicate the transactions associated with the fund(s) and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide accurate and thorough accounting packages.Coordinate and support various year-end audit engagements in accordance with GAAP accounting standards in your role as record keeper for the funds.Support the third-party tax preparer in the preparation of the annual tax reporting for the funds and investors.Correspond with external investment managers, administrator and custodian regarding day-to-day fund activities including reconciliations, coordinating scheduled deliverables, and critical issues.Build and enhance infrastructure, processes and deliverables through efficiency and automation.Competencies for success:BA / BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent professional experience. 3+ years of experience in alternatives within fund services industry.CPA is a plus.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Knowledge of Portfolio management and reporting systems such as Burgiss Private I or Advent Black Diamond preferred.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Thrive in team-oriented, inclusive cultures.Well-organized and able to complete projects in a dynamic work environment.Self-starter with proven skill in evaluating open-ended requests and developing effective solutions.Curious, critical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.Desire to broaden your industry knowledge by learning new concepts and systems and taking the initiative to apply it to your work.At Hirtle, Callaghan & Co., we don't just accept difference - we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our clients and our employees.
