Your journey toward a brighter energy future starts here!As Mechanical Engineer you will be the technical steward for mechanical and process equipment which can include rotating equipment, vessels & columns, heat exchangers, tanks, piping, and other mechanical systems across the project and product life-cycle. This includes development of specifications, functional requirements, designs and schematics, selection of components, engineering/procurement/construction support and installation/commissioning of chemical process equipment systems. You will create detailed specifications, datasheets, equipment lists, functional requirements, 2D and 3D models, asset management protocols, site and factory acceptance criteria, layout drawings, and material requisitions. You will be highly motivated, able to work independently, and have demonstrable leadership qualities. You will be confident in your own ability to deliver the project on time and within budget.Day-to-Day Responsibilities:Develop functional requirements specifications, project procedures, equipment data sheets, system requirementsSpecify and evaluate mechanical engineering services for the design of chemical processing equipmentServe as technical specialist for rotating equipment, static equipment, piping, and mechanical systems to support design and installation to ensure safe and reliable operationsLead design, specification and selection of mechanical equipment with a working knowledge of applicable ASME and industry codes/standardsEnsure that all design changes are captured by the change control process.Participate in risk Process Hazards Analysis, HAZOP, and LOPA as equipment and mechanical system subject matter expertProvide technical input during design phase,Develop specifications and prepare material requisitions for equipment, mechanical systems and other componentsParticipate in design and engineering reviewsPerform calculations e.g. for equipment sizing, pipe flow and fluid systems, compressed gas systems, etc.Liaise with and manage interfaces with other engineering disciplines; process, instrumentation and controls, electrical etc. advise the Engineering Manager of any major slippages and their causes, major technical problems and unresolved differences with other GroupsEnsure that the applicable specifications and standards are applied across all aspects of process and mechanical systems delivery to the ProjectAssist in the development of equipment qualification test procedures, evaluate test results, and review final reportsAttend site during construction and commissioning phase when required.Provide mechanical/process engineering technical supportAssist Design and deployment of maintenance programs for rotating and fixed equipment, including specifying maintenance practices, procedures, test equipment, and frequenciesTake ownership of mechanical and equipment technical queries to ensure satisfactory resolution.Interface with vendor/supplier engineering representatives, establish and maintain a project repository of project documentsDeliver documentation that is technically correct to the required standard and schedulemeet the requirements of the agreed schedule identified within the project plan for the process equipment and mechanical system deliverables as assigned by the Engineering ManagerMonitoring of all on site activities including design, installation, commissioning, site acceptance testing (SAT), and factory acceptance testing (FAT)Engage with any other activities that would be realistically required of the role.As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is requiredMinimum 10 years of applicable engineering experience requiredPrevious experience in specialty chemical, petrochemical, API pharmaceutical, or nuclear industry is highly desired.Good working experience with ASME Sect VIII, IX, and B31.3, API, ANSIFull process or mechanical system project life cycle experience.Experience in preparation and reviewing full equipment and mechanical system project documentation including functional descriptions, specifications, isometrics, equipment sizing, P&IDs and others.The ability to produce technical reports, and able to clearly explain complex technical process equipment related issues.The ability and willingness to travel domestic and international to perform vendor evaluations, completing site acceptance tests (SAT) and conduct inspections/audits.
