MFA's mission is to advance the ability of alternative asset managers to raise capital, invest, and generate returns for their beneficiaries. MFA advocates on behalf of its membership and convenes stakeholders to address global regulatory, operational, and business issues. MFA's member firms collectively manage a diverse group of investment strategies. Member firms help pension plans, university endowments, charitable foundations, and other institutional investors to diversify their investments, manage risk, and generate attractive returns over time. Essential responsibilitiesCreate and distribute electronic invitations for MFA member events Prepare registration table, tent cards and name tags for MFA Forums, events and conferences Track attendance pre and post event and update in CRM system Assist in documenting, creating and sending all CPE (Continuing Professional Education) and CLE (Continuing Legal Education) credits for attendees of MFA events Maintain and update company CRM and relevant databases Prepare meeting materials and copies for all meetings in the NY office On-site event troubleshooting and AV point person for MFA Forums, events and conferences Meeting set-up and clean-up (configure conference room set-up, request conference call dial-in number, distribute meeting materials, set tent cards/name badges, meet and greet attendee's, etc.) Schedule meetings and maintain calendar for Conferences and Events team with any MFA-NYC hosted meetings Assist with office shipping, pickups, deliveries, and messenger services Develop and present a capstone intern research project Qualifications and Requirements: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Communications, marketing, events and related programs are preferred. Available to work during MFA's hours of operation (9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.) in the NY office on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday; for a minimum of two days a week. + Possess a strong interest in the financial services industry is a plus. Experience with event communication or management is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented culture that values the importance of being a good teammate, communicator, and partner. Demonstrated ability to self-start, think ahead, problem solve, and engage proactively with high professionalism, reliability, and accountability. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong time management skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
