Structural Engineer

Alvi Associates is growing and we are seeking three Structural Engineers with 0 to 12 years of experience to become integral members of our team.Founded in 1979, Alvi Associates provides structural, roadway, water resources, and geotechnical engineering services in the mid-Atlantic region to numerous clients and project owners, including the Maryland DOT, Virginia DOT, Delaware DOT, and various city and county agencies.We pride ourselves on our technical expertise and innovation, which have been recognized by many engineering excellence awards, including major national awards and the 2024 ACEC/MD Grand Award (We have participated in high-profile forensic investigations which received national and international recognition, including the FIU signature pedestrian bridge failure in Florida, the Oroville Dam spillway failure in California (tallest dam in the US), and the Edenville Dam failure in Michigan (more than $200 million in damages).Our office is located in Towson, Maryland, with free parking and convenient access to the City of Baltimore and many entertainment, shopping, and nature areas. Currently, except for participation in fieldwork and attending in-person meetings, when necessary, employees have the option of blending remote working and coming into the office as they wish. In order to attend occasional in-person meetings and participate in fieldwork, the candidate will need to reside close enough to the office to be able to commute.Structural Engineers - Job DescriptionWe are seeking three Structural Engineers with 0 to 12 years of experience.Your projects will involve transportation structures such as routine and complex bridges, and you will also have the opportunity to work on dams and other special structures. You will gain diverse experience involving design of these structures, performing load rating analyses, and performing inspections of structures.Of special note, Alvi Associates will have a substantial role in the design of the new Francis Scott Key cable-stayed bridge over the next 2-3 years. All of our structural engineers will be working on this project, which represents a unique career opportunity.Company BenefitsAt Alvi Associates, we offer a generous benefits package and salaries which are at the top of the range compared to other engineering firms in the area. For these positions, the salary ranges are listed below:· 0-3 years of experience (with EIT): $39 to $49 per hour, which is $81,120 to $101,920 per year, plus overtime paid at the same hourly rate.· 4-7 years of experience (with PE): $49 to $59 per hour, which is $101,920 to $122,720 per year, plus overtime paid at the same hourly rate.· 8-12 years of experience (with PE): $57 to $67 per hour, which is $118,560 to $139,360 per year, plus overtime paid at the same hourly rate.In addition, each full-time Alvi employee currently receives the following benefits:Option to work remote (aside from fieldwork and in-person meetings); the company will provide office furniture and computer equipment to enable productively and comfortably working from homeFlexible hoursExceptional medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
