What you'll need to succeed as a Technician Specialist at XPOMinimum qualifications:A valid driver's licenseBasic mechanical skills Basic computer skills for documenting maintenance, service, and repair activitiesAble to perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentationDesire to become a trailer mechanicAvailable to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekendsPreferred qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent work-related or military experiencePrior mechanical training or experience such as automotive or skilled tradesOwn a set of basic hand toolsHave a desire to become a Technician Level 1Disclaimer: Employee will have to have a combination of one (1) year verifiable previous experience with heavy-duty maintenance and time in this role to be eligible for an in-line promotionAbout the Technician Specialist jobPay, benefits and more:Pay starts at $20.92/hour Day Shift, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pmQuarterly tool allowance to grow your tool kit Full health insurance benefits on day one Life and disability insurance Earn up to 13 days PTO over your first year 9 paid company holidays 401(k) option with company match Education assistance This is a Motor Carrier Act Exempt positionWhat you'll do on a typical day:Assist with trailer inspections and brake replacement to gain the experience necessary to meet requirements of FMCSA 396.19 and 396.25Complete component replacementsPerform maintenance, service, and repairs on trailer doors and SafeStack Systems to units parked at the dockWork alongside technicians in the shop to complete minor trailer repairsEnter job times and parts on repair orders to track activitiesOperate specialized tooling and vehicles Ensure the work area is always clean, safe, and well-maintained by reporting any damage or negligence to management immediatelyInteract with operations management and shop managementTechnician Specialists are required to:Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally more than 75 lbs.
