Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

MUST BE LOCAL TO COLUMBUS, office 2-3 days per week.This senior engineer will be responsible for testing a greenfield application being built in a highly regulated GCP environment:The QA engineer must be proficient in test case generation, both from functional/business requirements and inferred from discussions with the team around software behavior(s).The QA engineer must have excellent communication skills and detail oriented.The QA engineer should have a strong understanding of manual testing methodologies in a cloud environment (Google cloud platform ideally)The QA engineer will partner with the team to ensure automated testing (Junit/Pytest) provides sufficient coverage for both positive and, more importantly, negative test cases.Preferably with a strong enough understanding of Java/Python/Git to add these tests themselves to our various code repositories. The QA engineer should have experience working in computer science or a related field, along with experience working in an agile environment.Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives. Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces. Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies. Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts. Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems. Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages. Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance. Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.Skills:Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience8+ years experience in related field preferredWorking knowledge of three or more technologies preferredProven leadership ability preferred
