SHED RAIN is a family-owned consumer products company specializing in the umbrella business and sells to major national retailers like Costco, Target, Fred Meyer, Nordstrom, and Macy's. SHED RAIN is aggressively expanding its sales channels, product lines, eCommerce channels and international business. The Category Director will drive innovation and the expansion of the company's product lines.This role will report to the Chief Market Strategy Officer and work closely with the EVP of Sales, the Director of Product & Merchandising, the Art Director, and the Director of eCommerce & Marketing.About this Role:SHED RAIN is seeking an energetic, passionate and analytical Category Director to maximize our growing GOGO brand of products. We have ambitious plans at SHED RAIN to build the GOGO brand. You will be responsible for bringing together all aspects of line planning, merchandising and go-to-market strategies to drive growth for the categories and achieve year over year growth. Your goal will be to establish the GOGO brand as a key player in its product categories.What You Will Do:Collaborate with team members to develop line plans & assortments, create and implement new product strategies, pricing models, and track overall progress and delivery of product lines.Monitor market dynamics, including consumer preferences, and adjust category trends accordingly for each retail channel and DTC. Bring new product ideas and category expansion ideas to the table.Identify new business opportunities, as appropriate, to drive innovation and revenue.Responsible for honing the right target market and defining our product features' value proposition each season.Build base replenishment business in each category where appropriate, ensure seasonal products carry year to year.Collaborate with Graphics and Design Teams to create and deliver compelling messaging to internal sales team or external accounts on seasonal launches for all categories within the brand to garner excitement and enthusiasm. Tell the Product's Story and Motivate consumers and accounts to buy the product.Accountable for development of selling tools for all channels. Partner with DTC team on delivery timing, storytelling and optimize messaging on .Align with sales team and marketing team to articulate the products' benefits in a cohesive story.Leverage insights from internal and external partners and competitors to proactively refine our messaging, ensure product-market fit, and influence the product roadmap.Evaluate in-season and end of season by style performance and overall account performance to provide insights to product development on assortments; deliver account and SHED RAIN profitability.What You Will Do Continued:Work with marketing and ecommerce teams to define marketing point of view, build relevant consumer experiences for social and website.Potential for account responsibility, as needed.Bring best practices to improve process.Who You Are:10+ years of proven experience as a category manager, product marketing or similar role in consumer products industry - preferred in accessories, footwear and apparel industries.Confident and effective verbal communicator. Ability to lead sales meetings with accounts; deliver key product strategies and opportunities.Ability to pull together presentation materials for internal and/or external trainings/meetings.Strong product aesthetic - good eye for fashion, style, and color.Time and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Comfort with shifting prioritization based on business needs. Experience using project management software to manage resources and deadlines.Strong collaboration and communication skills; experience working cross-functionally along with the ability to work independently within deadlines.Creative problem-solving skills, solution-orientation and innovative thinking.Some travel will be required for this role.
