Base Salary $90-130kFIRE PROTECTION ENGINEERJob DescriptionJob responsibilities include but not limited to: Read and interpret construction documents, i.e. drawings, specifications, and contracts. Provide review of fire sprinkler design for compliance with building & fire codes, NFPA standards, and insurance underwriters. Working knowledge of current NFPA standards and the ability to apply those standards to the design/layout of fire sprinkler systems for the given building type, construction type, hazard classification and architectural features. Work closely with the Designer, Design Manager, Project Manager, and Superintendent to review and ensure project scope for each project is being met. Provide design for smaller fire sprinklers projects. Conduct hydraulic system analysis for clients to identify adequacy of existing fire sprinkler system(s) Provide consulting services to clients on fire safety measures and codes compliance specific to fire sprinkler systems. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure fire protection measures are integrated into building designs and construction. Assist with training and educating design staff as it relates to fire sprinkler layout and design. Stay up to date on industry standards, codes, and regulations.Knowledge/Education: Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field Professional Engineering (PE) licensed required (if not already obtained, Missouri and Illinois licensing will be required) NICET Level III or IV a bonusWork Experience: Prefer 5+ years of Fire Protection "Contracting" engineering experience.Skills and Competencies: Proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD a bonus Ability to travel (primarily local area) as needed.Physical Requirements: 90% office setting, including sitting, occasional bending/lifting, walking, and viewing. 10% driving
