PAYROLL MANAGERJob Responsibilities of Payroll ManagerMaintains up-to-date payroll information by directing and reviewing the collection, calculation and entering of dataReviews supporting documentation for appropriate approval and oversees changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job titles and department transfers.Pays employees by directing the issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accountsCompiles and reviews summary reports of earnings, taxes and deductions as well as payments related to leave, disability and nontaxable wagesDetermines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes as well as employer's social security, unemployment and workers' compensation payments.Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepanciesResponds to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner, offering guidance where possible (excluding tax advice)Documents and maintains payroll policies and procedures, updating at least annuallyComplies with federal, state, and international tax requirements by keeping abreast of existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on required actionsMaintains security and extreme confidentiality of payroll informationSkills & Competencies of Payroll Manager:Familiar with laws related to compensation and wage structure, benefits administration, workers' compensation and employmentPossesses tax expertise and financial/reporting skillsAbility to work in fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlinesMaintains a professional demeanor with an emphasis on people-management skillsProven ability to effectively lead, coordinate and implement efficient processesAble to operate independently as well as within a team environment and perform duties which require good judgment, collaboration and initiativeThe ability to problem solve, maintain composure and work well within a high-pressure environmentExemplary interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and courteously across all levels within and outside the FirmQualifications & Required Experience for Payroll Manager:Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experienceA minimum of five (3) years of experience processing payroll requiredExperience with Ellucian Colleague or Banner is a plusINOCT2024 #ZRCFS
