Job Description: Operations Manager (Onsite)Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 per yearCompany: LHH Recruitment Solutions (on behalf of our client)Overview:We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Operations Manager to oversee our client's custom fabrication shop, which specializes in hydraulic lifting equipment, precision machining, and equipment frame fabrication. This role requires a strong leader with technical expertise and a commitment to Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) standards. The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of shop operations, including budgeting, production, personnel, quality control, and safety.Key Responsibilities:Set clear objectives and provide consistent communication and feedback to build and maintain a high-performing team.Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, workforce needs, and resource allocation.Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure financial targets are met.Oversee contract negotiations and management with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring compliance with terms.Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues to minimize project disruptions.Maintain thorough project documentation, including plans, reports, and records of meetings and decisions.Lead design and engineering teams to create innovative heavy equipment solutions that meet safety standards, regulations, and client specifications.Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and specifications.Monitor project progress, analyze performance metrics, and report status to stakeholders.Ensure adherence to organizational policies, industry regulations, and best practices.Resolve on-site issues, conflicts, or delays that may impact project timelines or quality.Manage changes to project scope, timelines, and resources, ensuring effective communication and integration.Oversee the completion of all project phases, conduct final inspections, and ensure all contractual obligations are met.Facilitate project handover and compile lessons learned for future projects.Required Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment design, engineering, or related roles.Proven track record of managing large-scale design projects from concept to completion.Strong knowledge of engineering principles, CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), and product development cycles.Understanding of safety and environmental regulations in heavy equipment manufacturing.Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple priorities effectively.Proactive problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project challenges.PMP certification or equivalent project management experience is preferred.Work Environment:Office setting for project planning and design coordination.Occasional travel to manufacturing sites, client locations, or testing facilities.Interaction with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies as needed.Benefits:Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
