Position OverviewDivorcio Latino is seeking a passionate and dedicated Jr. Associate Attorney to join our dynamic team. This role requires a thorough understanding of family law and civil procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and professionalism. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Attorney and the paralegal department to support clients throughout the legal process, from initial consultation to courtroom representation. We are willing to train new graduates who show the commitment and skills required to succeed in this role. Key Responsibilities:Represent clients in family law matters, including court appearances and trial-level litigation.Conduct thorough intakes and consultations with potential clients, providing sound legal advice and setting realistic expectations.Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests, supported by statutory and case law.Travel to surrounding counties to represent clients and manage out-of-county family law matters.Participate in marketing and networking events to promote the firm's services and generate goodwill within the legal community.Assist in the growth of the Family Law Department through writing blogs, updating website content, and engaging in social media activities.Provide research support to assist the Family Law Partner in upcoming trials and streamline family law procedures within the firm.Communicate professionally with pro se litigants, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other relevant parties.Qualifications:We require that our candidates hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited school.We require that our members are active members of the North Carolina State Bar.We prefer but do not require a minimum of 1 year of litigation experience in North Carolina family law (participation in family law clinics, internships, or externships will be considered).We require Bilingual Spanish / English full proficiency (no exceptions)We prefer someone with a strong proficiency in CLIO and experience in e-filing.Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as needed.
