As a Product Engineer, you will design roller chain components and assemblies using solid modeling software, ensuring compliance with GD&T standards while conducting product-related contract reviews and defining performance criteria. You will also provide technical support to internal and external customers, lead improvement initiatives for operational efficiency, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards through audits and design review meetings.Client DetailsOur client is a prominent manufacturer and supplier of power transmission and motion control products. It is recognized for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, operating globally with a significant presence in various industries.DescriptionResponsibilities:Design roller chain components, assemblies, and accessories using solid modeling software, adhering to industry GD&T standards.Conduct product-related contract reviews for new customer orders and configurations.Define performance criteria for roller chain designs, including dimensions, materials, and hardness.Develop manufacturing routings for components and assemblies.Assess existing products for quality, performance, and cost improvements; implement engineering changes and provide necessary training.Write and maintain product specifications per ISO 9001 QMS standards.Create and execute qualification plans for new designs, applying statistical methods and design of experiments when necessary.Offer technical support to external customers (sales, distributors, end-users) and internal teams (production, manufacturing engineering, quality).Provide product engineering training to employees, customers, and sales teams.Lead or support internal improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency.Participate in quality and safety audits to ensure compliance with ISO and OSHA standards.Facilitate design review meetings with manufacturing, quality, and production teams.ProfileIdeal Candidate: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Over three years of relevant experience in the field.Proficiency in CAD design and strong verbal and written communication skills.Competence in reading, analyzing, and interpreting various business materials, including periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and regulations. Capable of drafting reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Skilled at presenting information effectively and addressing questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.Strong mathematical skills applicable to tooling design and machining processes. Familiarity with concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Proficient in applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world situations.Ability to employ logical and scientific thinking to tackle a variety of intellectual and practical challenges.
