Applications Engineer (REMOTE in Washington)Salary$90,000.00 or $43/hr and upReports toApplications ManagerHoursMonday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pmTravel70% Regional (in-state); travel within a 1-3 hour radius, no weekends or holidays. Includes company truck, laptop, cell, iPad, and Amex.OverviewTo successfully perform this role, the candidate must be able to carry out each essential function satisfactorily. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Perform application engineering tasks under direct supervision.Participate in training activities provided by senior colleagues, internal training programs, and external resources.Prepare fixtures and work holding for demonstrations, test cuts, and turnkey solutions.Conduct time estimates for customer parts.Calculate optimal speeds and feeds for part processing.Use CAPPS conversational programming, industry-standard CAM systems, and direct G-Code/Macro programming to generate CNC programs.Set up CNC machines with programs, tooling, workpieces, and fixtures.Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.Generate engineering reports and technical documentation.Communicate frequently with internal technical staff, external customers, and suppliers.Minimum RequirementsEducationBS Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred, or equivalent machining knowledge.Technical SkillsKnowledge of part processing, metal cutting, CNC programming, reading drawings, and machine setup.Basic understanding of metallurgy.Experience: Proven ability to communicate professionally with both internal and external customers.Flexibility: Ability to handle shifting priorities with ease.Software Proficiency: Competency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Personal AttributesStrong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with potential overtime (with advanced notice).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.This role requires a proactive individual who is eager to learn and contribute to a dynamic technical team while traveling frequently to engage with customers and perform hands-on tasks with CNC machinery.Important: You must have the required experience to be considered for this position.
