Responsible for supporting the efficient functioning of the unit with respect to scheduling, supply management, equipment management, audits, delegation of tasks and other duties as assigned.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assessing the schedule daily and assigning the staff accordingly. Making leaders aware of shortages or surplus in staffing for each day Maintain staff cancellation lists and ensure proper order when cancellingDelegation of ancillary tasksEvaluating supplies and par levels, adjusting levels to meet unit needs Place order for supplies to meet par levels Troubleshoot equipment and doctors needs regarding additional supplies or specialty itemsReview new or changing policies to ensure compliance with regulatory bodiesDaily, Weekly and/or Monthly audits to ensure compliance with regulatory bodiesFormulate potential solutions to issues / concerns within the department. Present change to management and implement when/if approvedWork closely with Clinical Coordinator and Clinical Director to keep informed of issues or concernsPHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:Sits up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stands for up to 8 hours per day; 4 hours at a time. Walk 6 hours per day; 10 minutes at a time. Consistently lift, push and carry objects up to 75 lbs. Transport patients weighing up to 500 lbs. via wheelchair, bed, and/ or stretcher with assistance when appropriate. Consistently pull up to 10lbs. Frequently pull up to 250lbs. with assistance when appropriate. Frequently stoop, bend, crouch, kneel and climb. Frequently reach above shoulder level. Occasional crawling. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Frequently finger and handle objects. Occasionally firmly grasp, twist, and turn objects with hands and fingers. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation; high and low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and visual monotony (e.g., computer screen).EDUCATION: High School Graduate or GED Equivalent. Specialized training and experience in processing instruments, especially Flexible Endoscopes, preferred. Basic computer skills, preferred.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCEA minimum of 3 years' experience as an Endoscopy Technician or related position/experience. Proven ability to independently identify needs of the department and carry out special assignments. Successful completion of BLS Course.
