Job Description: Facilities TechnicianPosition: Facilities TechnicianDescription:The Impact You Can MakeNesco Resource is seeking an experienced Facilities Technician for our client in Glens Falls, NY. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients mechanical equipment and systems. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and inspecting various mechanical systems, using your expertise and independent judgment to make informed decisions. Your role will include performing preventative maintenance on facilities equipment and maintaining accurate documentation related to the work performed. Compliance with all hospital policies and OSHA regulations is essential while conducting job duties.This position involves responding to both scheduled and non-scheduled service calls, which may require skills in electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and more. Service areas include the Main Campus building and offsite offices/buildings, such as mechanical spaces, Boiler Rooms, CSR, Kitchen, and Laundry. Exceptional customer service and professionalism are necessary to represent the Engineering Department to visitors, and staff effectively.How You Will Fulfill Your PotentialResponsibilities:Perform service and repair activities for various patient and customer needs, including lighting repairs/replacements, heating/cooling calls, plumbing repairs, minor electrical repairs, minor painting patching and carpentry, and ceiling tile replacements.Manage television inventory, system, programming, and minor repairs.Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities on equipment and systems, including cleaning and lubricating equipment, filter changes, refrigerant handling, and cleaning heat pump and fan/coil units.Check lighting, exit signage, and doors; install and repair signage, pictures, cabinets, shelving, window coverings, etc.Repair and maintain stretchers, carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment as required.Support Compliance activities through Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance activities for the Environment of Care, Life Safety, and Emergency Preparedness.Repair and rebuild machinery, motors, and equipment found in the utility systems and departments.Assist skilled trades as necessary.Assist with snow removal and other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation/Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred: 2-year trade school education or 5 years of experience in a mechanical and/or electrical trade related to facilities operation and maintenance. Experience as a maintenance technician in a healthcare, industrial, or manufacturing environment may be considered.Skills/Abilities:Demonstrated aptitude in one or more facility trade: mechanical, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or plumbing.Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through on-the-job and educational activities.Ability to safely and properly use hand and power tools, electrical meters and test equipment, as well as maintenance lubricants, solvents, and other industrial chemicals.Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under minimal supervision.Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents/bulletins.Some computer skills required. Ability to accurately and descriptively document all completed work, order materials, etc.Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.Strong customer service skills.Licenses/Certificates/Registrations:Valid NYS Driver's License RequiredJourneyman and/or Apprentice Licensure preferredUS EPA Refrigerant Certification (Class 1, 2, or 3) Licensure preferredSalary RangeThe expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $18.17 to $25.58 per hour.
