Through our four business groups, Motorparts, Ride Performance, Clean Air and Powertrain, Tenneco is driving advancements in global mobility by delivering technology solutions for diversified global markets, including light vehicle, commercial truck, off-highway, industrial, motorsport and the aftermarket.Tenneco is seeking a Learning & Organizational Development Manager to play a critical role in developing the company's talent management framework as well as creating a standardized talent identification and cultivation approach. This role acts as the learning and organizational development advisor to our leaders and facilitates Company initiatives across Tenneco. Additionally, this candidate plans, develops, implements and administers employee development programs for Tenneco's team members. This role is responsible to implementing talent management strategy, develop succession plans and leadership development, career pathing, performance management, change management, and for creating a competency framework to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives.Creates and implements learning strategies that enable team members to learn new skills, build proficiency and accelerate adoption of changes to daily ways of working. This includes assessing training needs, building, and partnering with vendors to source, design and tailor training content, planning and delivering learning events that build business process, roles, and tool capabilities.RESPONSIBILITIES:Builds Competency architecture and framework unique to TennecoDesign and execute leadership development initiatives to cultivate an internally diverse and robust pipeline of leaders.Conducts needs assessments to determine measures required to enhance employee job performance and operational/departmental performance.Leads the design, development and implementation of programs, procedures and strategies tailored to meet learning and development needs and program goals.Measure the effectiveness of training materials, facilitation, and program objectives via survey and other means.Provides a broad range of advisory services to all levels of employees including subject matter experts (SME) tasked with facilitating an internal training program.Conducts training in an engaging manner facilitating in-person, virtual soft skills and development program content.Identifies, evaluates, and manages external vendors/facilitators for appropriate topics based on the business needs.Identifies/incorporates best practices and lessons learned into program plans.Facilitates communication among employees and management via development plan and performance improvement conversations.Directs eLearning initiatives including development and procurement.Prepares and assesses Tenneco's talent review, people planning and succession planning processes.Collaborates with leaders to identify skill gaps and training requirements across various teams.Strong understanding of training methodologies, adult learning principles, instructional design concepts as well as different learning modalitiesStays abreast of new and emerging best practices and incorporate them into training programs as appropriate.Regularly assesses and refines training initiatives based on feedback and performance data.Collaborates with Human Resources to integrate training outcomes into performance management processes. Establishes metrics to measure the effectiveness of training programs.Utilizes and oversees the HRIS, LMS and other human resources-related software applicationsProvide reporting and analytics as requiredLeverages learning technologies and tools to enhance training effectiveness.Evaluates and implements e-learning platforms, virtual training solutions, and other technologies to support training initiatives.Oversees activities in the HRIS and other human resources-related software applications.Helps build and foster collaborative relationships with leaders and colleagues across the organization to drive changeEDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Education, Human Capital Development, or related field; Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or related field a plus.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:Reads, analyzes, edits, and interprets information to present to stakeholdersEffectively presents information to all levels at Tenneco5+ years working in a business/manufacturing environment as a learning and organizational development practitioner5+ years of experience designing and implementing training and development programs preferredStrong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to take initiative and build strong relationships.Ability to build effective relationships with leaders and team members to influence and work toward a common goalAbility to maintain confidential information and work in a team environment with a strong customer service focus.Excellent written and verbal communications, active listening, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage leaders and teams in a way that builds trust and credibilityHighly organized with ability to manage multiple projects at one time with a strong understanding of project management methodologiesFlexible and adaptable with ability to work in an accelerated environment and transition smoothly and quicklyResilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere in ambiguous situationsForward looking with a growth mindset toward evolving change practices and techniques with a creative, entrepreneurial approach to finding solutionsManufacturing training experience is preferredPractical and proven experience with large-scale organizational learning initiatives, applying change management techniques to drive adoptionCandidates must reside in the Detroit, MI area.
