Midwest Region Farm ManagerUS Agriculture is an SEC-registered investment adviser that invests in and manages, quality sustainable farmland real estate across the United States for institutional investors. US Agriculture is seeking to add a Farm Manager to oversee our farm assets in the Midwest region. The ideal candidate will work out of the Carmel, Indiana office and possess a working knowledge of acquiring, operating, and managing passively leased and directly operated farmland assets. The position will require periodic overnight travel. In addition to hiring for technical ability, US Agriculture seeks to hire people that naturally align with our company values of curiosity, excellence, integrity and respect, teamwork, and accountability. The position will report to the Director of Asset Management. Qualifications1) Professional/Skills & Job Functions:Bachelor's degree and or a minimum of 2 years' work experience in an ag-business or related field. Past farm management or ag banking experience is a plus.Evaluate farmland acquisition opportunities using quantitative or qualitative methodsPrepare and manage budgetsPossess a working knowledge of finance and accounting principles for the purpose of underwriting potential acquisitions or authoring written investment proposalsLead all activities regarding lease negotiations, farm budgets, sustainability measures, data collection, project management, and farm improvementsPerform and coordinate due diligence efforts for regional farmland acquisitionsBe a good communicator and willing to produce written and oral recommendations to the teamDevelop a professional agriculture business network in the working regionProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially ExcelWilling to participate in the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers ("ASFMRA") Accredited Farm Manager programMonitor farmland assets conformance with US Agriculture's sustainability standard ("Leading Harvest"), improving company managed assets through timeDemonstrate a passion for Agriculture2) Personal Characteristics:Professional demeanor with utmost respect for confidential mattersAbility to work independentlyDetail oriented and excellent organization skillsAbility to multi-task in a highly structured and deadline-oriented environmentStrong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skillsThe training process is 100% on the job training, an ideal candidate needs to be a self-starter, eager to ask questions and invest the necessary time to research and solve problems.This job description is intended to describe the general nature of the position and the knowledge, experience, and abilities required to perform the job.
