LEGAL ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR We are seeking an experienced Pre-Judgment Supervisor to join our client's expanding law firm in Southfield, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team as a Paralegal or Senior Legal Assistant, ideally within a law firm. In this role, you will oversee a team of Pre-Judgment Associates, manage complex legal tasks, and ensure compliance with Michigan and Federal court filing requirements. Strong leadership, multitasking abilities, and the capacity to work independently are crucial. This position is key to ensuring the firm's continued success and adherence to legal guidelines.LEGAL ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES· Supervise legal associates and manage the progression of new lawsuits in the case management system.· Maintain client, debtor, and litigation data within the case management system.· Draft and assemble simple legal documents such as summons, complaints, and affidavits.· Monitor and manage deadlines using diary systems and generate status reports.· Oversee inventory management, delegate tasks, and track team performance.· Manage employee time, attendance, and ensure staffing needs are met.· Handle escalated legal issues while maintaining professionalism.· Review team work for accuracy and productivity using reporting tools.· Maintain and update team manuals and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).· Collaborate with project managers to improve processes and procedures.· Address staffing issues and manage performance improvement plans (PIP) with HR.· Assist HR with staffing and interviewing to fill department vacancies.LEGAL ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR REQUIREMENTS· 7+ years of experience supervising a team of paralegals or legal assistants in a pre-judgment environment.· Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred.· Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe); CLS knowledge is a plus.· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.· Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as firm policies.· Strong analytical, research, and investigative skills.· Reliable attendance.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
