Kent Island Resort is a recognized Maryland Historical site and the third oldest English settlement in the United States. The property currently consists of our hotel, a restaurant, kayaking, and several large wedding venues. The Groundskeeper will employ insecticides, chemical sprays, fertilizers and mulches to optimize condition of greenery. You will keep grounds free from trash, litter, debris, weeds, plant diseases and harmful insects. Responsibilities:Promote and portray the VIVMEE Values.To know understand and adhere to company established policy and procedures.Operating mowers, blowers, string trimmers, power washers, as well as some other power equipment.Maintaining fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis and reporting equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager immediately.Helping in outdoor project work such as grading and preparing soil base, laying sod, mulching, etc.Inform Director of Grounds of equipment malfunction.When directed by Director of Grounds, perform work involving large equipment such as tractors, loaders, and gang mowers.Fertilizing lawn, trees, flowers and shrubs, and spreading mulch.Trimming trees, hedges and shrubs, and preventing and eliminating weeds.Operating and maintaining hand tools, such as loppers, saws and shovels efficiently.Operating and maintaining trucks and power tools.Utilizing insecticides, fertilizers and chemical sprays to treat diseases.Keeping grounds free from trash, litter and debris, and emptying trash receptacles.Conducting basic irrigation audit and performing basic irrigation repairs.Removing snow by using shovel or snow blower.Must be able to lift at least a minimum of 50 lbs.Maintaining site landscaping, such as mulching, planting of new trees, shrubs, and flowers. Removal of old trees, shrubs, and flowers.
