This role will work closely with and support the Regional CEO, CMO, CNO, and CIO to ensure regional governance, standardization, change management, and Epic Gold Implementation. This role will provide the leadership to bridge not only regional governance but also communication between national functions and the regional stakeholders. This role will also be recognized as the domain expert who represents the needs of the region, state, and market for both acute and ambulatory care as it relates to health information technology. This role will directly partner with the Regional Clinical Informatics Director along with the Chief Medical Information Officers of other regions, Gold Application, Change Management and Standardization, and the Physician Enterprise. This role will lead, orchestrate, and align CommonSpirit Healths regional efforts with national initiatives as well as market-specific priorities.Responsibilities:Essential Key Job Responsibilities :Provider Efficiency and Productivity: Utilize a data driven approach, including Artificial Intelligence, to optimize and even automate the provider workload of chart review, documentation, order entry, and in-basket tasks.Provider Utilization of TechnologyProvide executive oversight to ensure adequate training (content, method,and competency), customization as defined by Epic Gold, and the facilitation of smooth transitions during electronic health record modifications and upgrades.Care Experience and Clinical OutcomesLeverage real time analytics and self service reporting to create enhanced patient and provider engagement resulting in less harm and improved health of the populations we serve.Advocate for Regional ProvidersMaintains healthy relationships with Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and allied health professionals to represent their technological requests, gain support and consensus of technology initiatives, and provide feedback to provider related issues.Coordination of Care Across the ContinuumLead a provider focused approach, through continuous process improvement, to improve patient access, throughput, and network integrity.Enhance the Electronic Health Record Provider ExperiencePrioritize, socialize, and communicate external national benchmarked data measuring the user experience to create a strategy and plan that guides CommonSpirit Health electronic health record Strategy.Decrease the Barriers to CareChampion the use of the patient portal, telehealth services, and standardized workflows that place the patient at the center of each care experience.Transform to a Single Electronic Health Record InstanceExemplify change management expertise and guidance as CommonSpirit Health evolves from its current state to One CommonSpirit with technology platforms that are standardized and rationalized third party applications.Steward and Support Strategic Growth InitiativesPartner with operations, clinical, and finance leadership to enable provider focused health information technology in support of enterprise, regional, and market strategic priorities.Operational Oversight: Provide direct leadership and management of Provider Informatics Specialists (Qualifications:Required Education and Experience : MD, DO, and at least 7 years of Health IT leadership experience and 10 years of clinical practiceRequired Licensure and Certifications :Board Certification in clinical specialty or informaticsRequired Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training : Management Principles, Practices and TechniquesInformation Technology Principles, Practices and TechniquesApplicable CommonSpirit Health Policies, Procedures, and Information Technology Systems Applicable Federal, State, and Local Laws, Codes, and RegulationsApplicable Theories and Principles related to Area of AssignmentSkill in Managing, Monitoring, and Evaluating Staff Skill in Planning Tactical and Operational ActivitiesProblem Solving and Process Analysis SkillsWritten and Oral Communication and Interpersonal Skills as Applied to Interaction with Coworkers, Supervisor, the Public, etc. Sufficient to Exchange or Convey Information and to Receive Work Direction
