BGS, a leading services provider of beta rays for radiation sterilization, is currently staffing US-based operations at our new production facility in Imperial, PA.We are seeking an enthusiastic and safety-oriented Maintenance Technician, versed in both electrical and mechanical operations. In this position, you will play a vital role in the startup of our high-volume production operations, working with a growing team!Job Responsibilities:Installation of Machinery: Assist with initial installation of the machinery at the production site together with the contractors.Independent Maintenance Work: Perform or oversee maintenance work on machinery and equipment.Generation of Maintenance Reports: Prepare and review maintenance reports and conduct spot checks to verify completed maintenance tasks.Repair and Modification of Equipment associated with an electron accelerator and automated conveyor system. Auxiliary equipment includes gear boxes, motors, pneumatic tools, PLC, high vacuum systems, etc.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and use applicable software to diagnose and troubleshoot machine interruptions.Learn and utilize Siemens software associated with the PLC system.Install and repair electrical systems and electronic components on industrial machinery and equipment.Maintain and program automated product handling systems.Rebuild and maintain equipment to meet high production output.As a skilled specialist, completes various tasks in resourceful and effective ways, with attention to continuous improvement.Coordinate the repair, maintaining, and operation of utilities.Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative.Effectively communicate with production supervisors or designates to diagnose and correct equipment problems.Assist with various projects as assigned by Manager.In the startup phase, learn operation of all machinery and occasionally serve as backup for the Operator function. This is a unique opportunity to broaden skill sets.Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of four (4) years of experience in: Automated Manufacturing, PLC programming, Robotic programmingAssociate's degree in Maintenance, Electrical, and / or Mechanical Technology is preferredElectrical, mechanical and plumbing expertiseProduction manufacturing experience in a regulated industry strongly preferred (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO 9001, AS 9100 D)Familiarity with electron beam equipment and auxiliary systems is a plusUnderstanding of RF transmission and frequency principles, related trouble shootingElectronics background related to radar or nuclear systems is beneficialAbility to complete an Electron Accelerator training programAbility to travel internationally on occasionThis is a full-time position, with competitive pay commensurate with experience.
