GeneralThe Contract Sales Estimator (Alarm & Sprinkler) is responsible for drafting profitable renovation, first generation & new construction estimates for new and existing customer clientele. The Contract Sales Estimator is responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and clients. Duties may include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads and maintaining relationships with existing customers.Specifically, the Contract Sales Estimator is responsible for analyzing construction documents to properly identify scope of work (Alarm, Extinguisher & Sprinkler), while performing a preliminary system layout with device counts, head counts and associated labor, materials, and equipment costs. Using the scope of work and associated costs, the Estimator will find a value strategy to present to all customers in the form of an estimate and relationship, while aligning with FirePro's responsible profit margins and sustained values or goals. General Responsibility ChecklistOrganize, cultivate & manage bid invitations with other Sales staff, through shared email and bid calendar, in an efficient and timely manner Analyze and prepare repetitive tasks such as downloading bid documents, setting up shared folders and uploading to Estimating website/software Responsible for preliminary system layout and design for estimating of projects (Head Count, Device Count, Etc.) Responsible for code research related to a specific project as requiredDemonstrates the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.Proficient at identifying scope & bid conflicts, based on Code, AHJ Requirements & Company Standards Identify potential conflicts and submit RFIs to customers, during the bidding phase of the project and or during the general installation for potential change orders Evaluate, identify, and communicate potential change orders and associated pricing found in construction documents and/or field installation Ensure and perform a job kick off meeting with Project Manager, Coordinator, Design Manager, Etc., once project is booked properly. Assist Project Coordinator with completing and maintaining contractor and owner pre-qualification forms when requiredAssist Project Coordinator & Manager with Customer project portal websites Procore, SmartBid, Buildertrend, etc.Cultivate, develop, and maintain relationships with customers to ensure we are pushing FirePro core values and placing customer needs first and building on existing clientele Entertaining clients as required. This can include but not limited to breakfast, lunch, in person meetings, sales presentations, dinners, or other social activitiesIdentify and analyze customer preferences to properly direct sales effortsEnsures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise pre or post-sale.Evaluate, Identify, & Improve: Continuously Identify, propose, and implement process improvements in current policies and procedures to expedite workflow. Promote business process improvements to reduce manual work, shorten processing times or improve efficiency in various aspects of the Sales & Estimating projects.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations. Evaluate, Identify, & Improve: Repeated tasks and data entry that may be delegated outside the organization or hiring additional help or utilizing technology to improve the process. Performs other duties as assignedQualificationsThis position is NOT entry level and requires candidate to work in the office, as well as remote at times Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field experienceMinimum 3 years of Alarm or Sprinkler Estimating experienceMinimum 1 year of Alarm or Sprinkler field installation experience Minimum 3 years of interpreting construction drawings, symbols, dimensions, building structures, notes, etc. Design, AutoCAD, SprinkCAD & General Construction background is preferred, or related job experience.
