The Manufacturing Engineer will play a lead role in developing new methods for assembly operations in precision machined products and final testing. The Manufacturing Engineer will have the opportunity to learn from a current manufacturing engineer on the team that is retiring to assist in on-boarding.Client DetailsOur client is an aerospace manufacturer located near Villa Park with about 100 employees at the facility that support customers like Boeing, Northrup, Collins Aerospace, and more. They are owned by a parent company that oversees an entire manufacturing portfolio in the U.S. over $1B in annual revenue.DescriptionResponsible for productivity improvements, automation implementation, and Lean initiatives.Drive shop floor CI through lean minded process/flow improvements and cross functional kaizen events.Develop and Improve processes in a machine shop and assembly environment.Develop automation, optimized methods, special tooling & machine/test stand designs for the purpose of cost reduction, quality & process enhancementEmployee's primary duties require him/her to use discretion and independent judgment.Troubleshooting production issues of mechanical and electrical nature.Ability to understand electrical schematics and troubleshoot/identify component level issues.Develops requirements for tooling, fixturing, testing and support equipment.Being involved in capital expenditure discussionsUnderstanding Customer and Engineering (Mechanical and Electrical) requirements and translating them into our processesProfile3+ years in manufacturing, preferred in precision machining operationsHands-on experience; strong ability to troubleshoot machinery including CNC mills & lathesAssociates Degree or higher education in a technical science or engineering fieldAbility to provide direction & coaching to machine operatorsKnowledge of LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies OR demonstrated experience with process improvement initiatives like: 5S, Kaizen Events, Value Stream Mapping, Pareto Charts, and moreAbility to write work instructions, create documentation for troubleshooting equipment/machineryJob OfferBase Salary: $85,000-$105,000 depending on level of experience3 weeks vacation and 10 holidaysBCBS full medical benefitsTuition ReimbursementMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
