Job SummaryThe Heat Trace Estimator reports to the Operations Manager and collaborates closely with all departments to determine the factors associated with completing the scope of work on a project. This position is responsible for completing quantity take-offs, preparing cost estimates, and communicating with customers, subcontractors and vendors to determine the financial needs of completing a project. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrioritize projects, customer deadlines, and closing dates of projects.Analyze drawings, specifications, other documents, conduct site visits, speak with customers to prepare cost estimates.Prepare, issue, receive, and review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing.Coordinate with the customers, subcontractors, vendors and internal departments on questions or clarifications regarding the work during the bidding process and during change orders.Review budget and project profitability, status, and goals with other departments as required. Develop, utilize, and maintain WilsherCo estimating tools and resources.Enter all new and potential estimates into our system and ensure consistency of data.Utilize completed estimates for historical reference and cost comparison on future projects. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.Collaborate with others at WilsherCo to improve company processes, drive growth, increase efficiencies and increase overall profit margin. Other duties as assigned.Essential QualificationsSafety first behavior.Associates degree or equivalent work experience preferred.3+ years' work experience in industrial estimating, electrical, mechanical, insulation, electrical heat tracing installation and construction is a plus. Extensive understanding of Heat Trace methods and materials. Ability to determine all components required to complete a successful Heat Trace project. (i.e., service call, access required, walk down, subcontractors required, etc...).Ability to read engineering documents, Isometric drawings, P&IDs, General Arrangement drawings.Possess a good understanding the basic project controls (budgets, preparing schedules, cost control, change management, progress measurement, and forecasting).Ability to read and understand customer specifications and requirements for a project.Ability to conduct data analysis (labor productivity, database standards and development, historical data analysis, and benchmarking) a plus.Outstanding customer service skills.Conducts all actions with honesty and integrity and uses good judgment at all timesClear focus on reaching personal and company goalsAbility to adapt quickly to unforeseen situations. Organized planner who critically assesses own performanceMust be able to sit for long periods of time, work in an Industrial setting when needed, handle stressful situations, meet deadlines, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.Computer Skills - Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point), estimating software, Adobe Acrobat, and Auto CAD)Excellent written and verbal skills.
