HP Indigo Press Operator - Day ShiftOperations - Salt Lake CityThe Indigo Press Operatoroperates and maintains digital presses that produce printed labels. The operator is usually responsible for operating more than one piece of digital press equipment, including maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. The ideal candidate should have deep familiarity with finishing press operations, substrates, inks, and finishing processes. The ability to operate large format printers and finishing is a plus. This role reports to the Production Manager or Supervisor.RESPONSIBILITIESOperate HP Indigo pressRead and understand orders to assure correct materials are produced to company standardsResponsible for pulling appropriate stock, make ready of machine, color match consistency, and production runsMonitor print process to ensure print quality and recognize when adjustments are necessaryMaintains equipment, troubleshoots equipment problems, performs prescribed preventative maintenance on equipment as required and identify repairs if neededTracks and records all consumables and through-put of equipmentKeeps color profiles necessary for consistency and calibrationMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulationsDetects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department managerCommunicates status of jobs to department managerOperate in a safe and efficient mannerCommunicate with management any issues not meeting the ODS standardsUpdate relevant MIS systems with job and production informationPerform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTSHigh School graduate, or completion of GED requiredA minimum of two years' experience in a digital printing environment operating digital presses is desiredPrevious experience in setting up and running HP Indigo equipment and files and HP Indigo certification is a plusForklift certification a plusThis position requires and individual who is technically and mechanically oriented with strong computer skills with file-to-print processPerform all work and activities with honesty and integrityTake personal responsibility for productivity, quality and timeliness of workEffectively communicate (and listen) clearly, professionally, politely and persuasively in all situations; respond well and in a reasonable, timely mannerChallenge conventional practices and use creativity and information to lead, innovate, problem solve, and implement ideas to contribute to the growth of the organizationSupport and meet company/department goals and core valuesCollaborate with co-workers to achieve common goals
