We're seeking a future team member for Global Data, Intellectual Property, Technology & Innovation (DITI) Team within BNY's Legal Department. This role is hybrid and will be located in Pittsburgh or New York. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:Advising on the strategy, planning and implementation of BNY's technology projects and adoption of emerging technology (e.g., AI/ML, DLT).Partnering with Risk, Compliance and Legal colleagues to advise on the development and deployment of digital products and services.Drafting agreement templates and providing support with client negotiations in collaboration with business product attorneys.Keeping up to date on legal and regulatory developments in the financial services sector involving technology/emerging technologies and advising senior stakeholders of their potential impact to BNY and its subsidiaries.Providing legal support in responding to regulatory examinations and inquiries.Advising on open-source software use, ensuring compliance with licenses, mitigating risks, and safeguarding BNY's intellectual property.Developing and leading training programs to educate various stakeholders on technology/emerging technology-related legal issues.Collaborating with public affairs, regulatory and regional colleagues to engage in the review and consultation of legislative policies and proposals related to technology.To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following: 3-7 years' experienceA strong working knowledge of technology laws. Knowledge of emerging technology developments and use cases in the financial services sector desirable. Strong interest in the same is critical.In-house counsel experience preferred.Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.Must be articulate, organized, able to work in a collaborative mannerComfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and challenging, but highly rewarding environment.
