The Estimator generates proposals that meet customer's specifications and other requirements, and prepares the final budget for the project, product, or service. This is accomplished through collaboration with Engineers, the Sales Team, and other related departments.Essential Job Responsibilities not limited to:EstimatingReview blueprints and make decisions on product that meets project specifications, code requirements, and any special project criteriaUse established pricing schedules to prepare and accurately generate proposals that comply with plans, specifications, and any special project criteria provided by the Sales RepsUse discretion with respect to product selection to achieve customer specifications and achieving the company's profitabilityAccurately communicate to the customer the scope of the proposal and any special deviations as it relates to the plans and specifications through generation of a scope documentPrepare and submit the final proposal to the customer for each project using VMC's products or services within stated timeframesSales SupportCommunicate effectively with the relevant departments to achieve objectives, which involves use of in-depth product knowledge and product application experienceEscalate customer concerns effectivelyAccurately maintain the key project information and total scope of work in all sales proposal templates, sales estimating tools, and sales quote logDevelop and accurately maintain all data in required sales trackersSupport customer sales through service, education, and effective problem-solvingSupport strategic sales planMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is a plus2 years commercial construction Experience2 years project management experience with a contractor is preferred.1 year Estimating experience with an HVAC equipment dealerStrong team player with excellent people and communications skillsProven ability to read plan drawings and blueprintsExcellent math skills, ability to apply concepts of basic geometryStrong attention to detail, resourceful, self-starter and a problem solverDemonstrated excellence in organization and time management skillsExceptional customer service skills, positive and upbeat attitudeStrong team player with excellent people and communication skillsMust be able to travel maximum of 5% if neededSales Experience is a plus
