Job SummaryFabrication - TIG and Flux core welding of sheet metal parts consisting of a variety of materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.Duties and Essential Job FunctionsTIG, MIG and Flux core welding of metal components in accordance with manufacturing drawings, layouts, diagrams, and spec sheets while maintaining compliance with all applicable standards of safety and performanceMust have/provide own fabrication tools (Welding Helmet, Measurement Devices, etc.)Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw gun, drill, and grindersSafely operate overhead craneOperate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand toolsMaintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methodsContinually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle timesCreate specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirementsPerform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure products meet quality standardsProperly clock in and out of each job processed via data collection hardware (Start time and stop time)Physically sign off on job routers once work has been completed for applicable work centerMaintain a clean and safe working environment May work at different workstations as production needs require.Other duties as assignedAcademic CompetenciesHigh School Diploma or EquivalentCollege or Trade School for welding or relevant on-the-job experience3-4 years' experience welding in metal fabrication environment preferredWorkplace CompetenciesAbility to read manufacturing blueprintsEffective communication skillsMust be able to effectively solve problems and troubleshootPerform first-piece and in-process inspectionsFlexible and adaptable to change jobs and material as needed to keep jobs flowingAssures compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, State, and local codes, OSHA regulations and requirements
