Our brand was born from a desire to build functional outdoor clothing made from exceptional fabrics, starting with the incomparable performance of merino wool.Job DescriptionDesignMaintains strong industry knowledge to identify and incorporate new materials, technologies, construction methods, colors, and design trends.Creates design continuity across the Ibex product line to ensure consistent design aestheticIn partnership with Supply Chain and Planning, researches and analyzes market trends, sell-through data, internal/external product feedback, and sales performance to identify product development opportunities for Ibex that meet the needs of our customers, while maximizing sales and gross margin.Designs and draws production sketches with support for design conversion into 3D products and creates tech packs. Responsible for executing individual designs according to stated product briefs produced with a deep knowledge of product components, costing, target margins, and required FOBs.Responsible for executing seasonal color palettes and the creation of colored merchandising story with product sketches that align with relevant seasonal trendsCompletes all product lines (finished styles, samples, and colors) in accordance with product development timeline to accomplish greater business goalsLeads larger level innovation discussions surrounding new opportunities for the greater market to establish Ibex as a leader in the spaceTechnical DevelopmentWorks with production partners to hone and develop best practices to create innovative and technically sound productsDevelops and tracks product schedule to ensure timely production from design packages and tech packs to final size set samples according to the development calendarAssists in creating/maintaining development tools (POM Manuals, costing masters, etc.)Tracks delivery schedule for entire product development cycle, including delivery of raw materials and trims to ensure development stays on timeRefines fit by style to ensure each garment fits to industry standardsCreates, maintains and publishes digital and physical records associated with styles including but not limited to measurements, Bill of Materials, technical sketches, master measurement charts, comments and revisions, competitive shops, and associated samplesEvaluates and approves production via photographs or physical samples for Quality Assurance and to make sure previous production comments were appliedCreates and maintains product details and partners cross-functionally with various departments (CS, sales, marketing, PR, etc.) to communicate all technical details, innovations, construction techniques, etc. to ensure successful sell-through of seasonal line offerings.Manages complete product creation cycle of all Ibex manufactured and private label products from materials and trims to constructions and patterning as well as product assembly in a wide range of product types including technical outerwear and casual apparel, soft and hard goods, accessories, etc.Must have a high level of understanding of raw materials, patterning, fabric drape, garment construction, sewing techniques, factory skill, and product creation processes and the ability to scale with integrity in each of these processes.Identifies potential quality pitfalls and partners Supply Chain and Planning, and Customer Service departments to analyze the cause of known quality issues to remedy concerns and provide continuous improvementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant field preferredAt least 3+ years of experience in product design and technical developmentProficient in analytical thinking, project coordination, and organizational management.Experience in the outdoor clothing industry is a plusWhat We OfferBenefits package including PTO and Health insuranceOpportunities for professional development and career advancement.A creative and supportive work environment, promoting personal and professional growth.Email your CV to work@
