Peppercomm is seeking an Associate to join our team who is news obsessed, trend focused, always curious, entrepreneurially minded, a lifelong learner, data driven and, above all, a superb listener. The Associate in this role is expected to deliver solid communications results (media, social, etc.) across our portfolio of accounts which include financial services, B2B and consumer. The associate is an entry-level position and a great way to start your professional public relations career!ResponsibilitiesWork across multiple consumer, B2B and financial services accounts handling a variety of tasks including:Working on various media relations activities including: pitching media across the traditional and social landscapes, proactively bringing media pitch ideas to account leads, developing media lists for outreach, participating in ongoing media programs.Writing clear, concise and persuasive press releases, social content and other written materials.Providing and preparing client status and activity reports.Developing and maintaining accurate and timely account reporting documents.Conducting research and providing analysis; supporting measurement efforts.Doing a deep dive into the client's business, products, markets and influencers.Analyzing information to begin to connect the dots between news/data/other info and your client's business. Succinctly capturing insights in discussions with teams and clients, as well as in written memos, reports and other documentation.Multi-tasking across multiple client verticals and supporting teams in a matrixed environment.RequirementsA bachelor's degree in communications or similar fieldPrior PR agency internships or 1+ years of experience within a PR agency or as part of an in-house communications teamExperience in pitching media and developing media relationships for agency/client benefitProficiency with Microsoft Office toolsStrong writing skillsWell-organized, strong time management and ability to work with deadlinesSocial media acumenDemonstrate an ability to deliver quality work on multiple deadlinesAbility to prioritize and multi-taskProactive and solutions-oriented approachA "never quit" attitude and a great sense of humorAbout PeppercommPeppercomm is an award-winning strategic, integrated communications and marketing agency headquartered in New York City. For more information visit The anticipated salary range for this position, at the time of posting, is $48,000-$50,000. This role is eligible for overtime pay.
