Senior Director of Multi-Site Workforce CommunicationsLocation:Northern New Jersey, Morris County (Greater Newark Area) - This position is 100% onsite, 5 days/week at the office location. We are looking for candidates who are open to relocation. Please note that this position requires relocation to Northern New Jersey for those note local to the area.Compensation:Base Salary$145,000 - $170,000 (Final offer will depend on relevant years of experience and overall fit for the position. We are seeking a highly skilled communications professional to manage and lead strategic communications for both executive leadership and multi-site, hourly employees across 20,000+ global employees.Position Overview:Reporting to the CHRO and working closely with the CEO and C-Level team, the Senior Director of Multi-Site Retail Workforce Communications will lead strategic internal communications for both corporate teams and dispersed, non-desk hourly employees. This is a highly visible, hands-on role that requires the ability to craft and execute communication strategies across a large, multi-location, hourly workforce"”many of whom do not have access to digital tools.The ideal candidate will come from a company where the internal communications department is small, allowing them to work directly with senior leadership. They must be comfortable managing executive communications for the C-suite while also ensuring clear and effective communications for frontline employees at hundreds of locations.Key Responsibilities:Lead Communication StrategiesDevelop and execute comprehensive internal communications strategies for a workforce of 20,000+ employees, including corporate, executive, and non-desk hourly employees at multi-site locations.Non-Digital CommunicationsCreate and manage non-digital communication channels (e.g., in-person briefings, posters, printed newsletters, SMS, PA systems) for employees who do not have regular internet access.Executive CommunicationsAct as the primary liaison for senior leadership, providing strategic communications counsel and crafting clear, impactful messaging for the C-suite.Multi-Site Workforce EngagementImplement tailored communication strategies to engage hourly employees across more than 50 locations, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement.Change Management and Crisis CommunicationsLead change management communications during organizational transitions and oversee crisis communications to ensure timely, brand-protective messaging.Content CreationCreate high-quality written, digital, and video content that ensures consistent messaging across all platforms for various employee groups.Employee EngagementDevelop measurable communication strategies that improve employee engagement and information flow for dispersed, hourly employees without digital access.Qualifications:10+ years of experience in internal corporate communications with a focus on executive communications and employee engagement, including significant experience managing communications for multi-site hourly workforces.Proven ability to develop and execute non-digital communication strategies tailored for hourly employees who do not have regular access to digital tools or corporate intranet platforms.Demonstrated experience managing internal communications across large, multi-site operations (50+ locations), including employees in industries such as retail, distribution, manufacturing, or facilities servicesExperience working in a small internal communications department, where direct interaction with the C-suite and executive leadership is required.Hands-on experience providing strategic communications counsel while managing tactical communication needs for frontline, non-desk employees.Proven track record of improving employee engagement and internal communication efficiency for workforces of 10,000+ employees.Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. Master's preferred.Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex information to diverse audiences.Strong leadership experience, including managing teams of communications professionals.Experience with change management, crisis communications, and high-stakes messaging is essential.
