About SPARK NS Founded in 2023, SPARK NS is an independent non-profit translational research organization dedicated to efficiently advancing promising neuroscience discoveries from the lab to the clinic. SPARK NS offers disease-specific two-year translational research programs that provide funding, education, mentorship, and networking opportunities to academic research teams with promising therapeutic discoveries. The programs are designed to close gaps in knowledge and eliminate barriers that slow or prevent promising discoveries from directly benefiting patients. As an independent organization not affiliated with any academic institution, SPARK NS selects the most promising projects that emerge from the global neuroscience research community. As we expand our operations, we seek a highly skilled and motivated Marketing Communications Manager to join our dynamic team. About the RoleWe are looking for a highly motivated marketing professional who is creative and strategic with excellent project management skills to plan, design, and implement marketing activities that further the SPARK NS mission and build our brand with multiple audiences across multiple channels. This role will report directly to the Communications Director and partner with cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and training, 5-7 years' relevant marketing communications experience, and be up to the challenge of growing our following among academic biomedical researchers and other stakeholders in the global drug discovery and development community. This role is on-site five days per week. ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with SPARK NS staff (Executive Director, Translational Research, Programs, Education, HR) to design and oversee the production of external marketing and internal employee communications materials and collateral that meet high quality standards, support our mission and programs and are aligned with our brand identity.Oversee the design, creation, and quality of our digital and print branded assets, including verifying correct file formats, resolution, and brand guidelines compliance.Develop and execute strategies for growing our following on LinkedIn and increasing traffic to our website, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to grow and ensure the quality of our email database.Manage our LinkedIn presence (company page, profiles, ads).Track, monitor, and measure the effectiveness of our online marketing activities by collecting and consolidating data from various sources, including website analytics, LinkedIn metrics, and email campaigns, and produce periodic reports with recommendations for course corrections.Support website updates, blog posts, and LinkedIn posts by coordinating content creation, formatting, and publishing, applying SEO/SEM strategies, and ensuring consistency with branding and messaging.Support website, LinkedIn, and other content creators by creating and managing a library of royalty-free photography, video, audio, illustrations, infographics, and graphical images to augment written content and/or work with external resources (digital agency and graphic design) to create original multimedia assets.When working with external resources, establish scope, timelines, and budgets and manage projects to on-time, on-budget delivery.Organize and maintain SPARK NS digital branded assets (photos, video, audio, and graphic files), including categorizing, tagging, and updating files to ensure easy access and retrieval.Coordinate the distribution of digital branded assets and brand usage guidelines to internal and external stakeholders, and ensure proper usage.Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and training plus 5-7 years' work experience in a similar role, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or academic biomedical research environment. Experience in a mission-driven, non-profit organization is a plus as is high-level understanding of neuroscience or related fields.Demonstrated excellence with successfully managing the design, development, and production of digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate, and digital print assets at a high-level of creativity and quality.Strong knowledge of content development and SEO/SEM strategies.Experience with digital marketing analytics, including solid knowledge of website analytics tools. Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills and adept at building relationships with different stakeholders. The ability to consistently make informed decisions in a growth environment.Proven ability to manage multiple and competing priorities simultaneously.High-level of attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google applications (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Analytics), design applications such as Canva and Figma, LinkedIn (profiles, company page, ads), CRM applications, website content management systems and analytics tools, and email marketing platforms.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive Salary: $140,000 - $160,000, based on qualifications and experience.Health Benefits: 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for you.SPARK NS believes in compensating talent fairly while reinvesting in our mission.
