Senior Industrial Designer

They are seeking a Senior Industrial Designer due to growth! Headquartered in Mason, Michigan, this manufacturer has been recognized for its disposable food service products, including foam, plastic and paper cups, plates and containers. They service some of the most recognized brands across the world. The Senior Industrial Designer will explore and conceptualize design solutions. This individual will lead innovation to develop design solutions and strategies to deliver the best possible creative solutions, for internal and external key stakeholders. This role is based in Mason, Michigan and offers relocation services.Senior Industrial DesignerResponsibilities:Prepare sketches, presentation renderings, physical mockups or 3-D finished models from verbal or written instructions, including new ideas for product designs, equipment and continuous improvement effortsLead and manage technical projects in the conception of designsCreate projects of large size, complex scope, long duration and collaborate as a leader or member of project teams on multi-disciplinary levelsCollaborate with the development team to bring prototypes to completion as requiredConceptualize ways of providing new and improved value to customers by translating marketing requirements into compelling product solutionsLead troubleshooting and analysis of problems to identify, evaluate and implement solutionsCreate original packaging proposals for all Sales Divisions based on research, marketing and consumer trendsLead internal and external ideation sessionsCreate internal and external product concept pitch decksLead and participate in internal and external product concept presentationsEvaluate design options, develop and push to find 'big ideas' based on design strategy and creative briefEvaluate and develop competitive and breakthrough design strategies and plansPartner and interact with internal teams and clients to showcase your passion for creative excellence, branding, packaging and visual communicationDevelop mentorship program for junior design teamSenior Industrial DesignerRequirements:Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in industrial design, product design or related design field of study5+ years of industrial design experience in packaging industryExperience within a brand/design agency is a plusExperience independently leading design development projects utilizing project management and design strategiesOutstanding Adobe Creative Suite skills, Adobe Photoshop and IllustratorAn impressive branding and packaging portfolio, demonstrating recent work with a track record of creative idea generation, strategy and developmentExperience with prototyping (3D printing, CNC, metal/wood/foam fabrication)Strong observational skills, end user empathy and the ability to identify insights from various forms of qualitative researchStrong verbal and graphical communication skills for effective design concept presentationHigh proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Fusion 360, Solidworks or RhinoHigh proficiency with Rendering software such as KeyShot, Unity or BlenderIndustrial design experience with food service packaging preferredAbility to utilize hand and mechanical measuring systems, experience with 3D scanning preferred If you have a passion for industrial design and are looking for a career-elevating opportunity, apply today!
