Reporting directly to the Manager, Transportation & Logistics, this role will supervise the transportation and distribution of fresh dough, produce, and other products between the Fresh Dough Facility and cafes. This role will supervise daily operations for the facilities transportation function. Responsibilities include ensuring drivers are compliant with DOT standards, supervising the daily loading operations, and ensuring the fleet is clean, safe, and reliable to operate while providing excellent customer service to our cafes. This position requires the ability to handle information and documents in a professional and confidential manner.Note: This job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described, and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the organization.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDOT COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY• Review driver logs and paperwork to ensure accuracy and adherence to policy and the Department of Transportation (DOT).• Verify all drivers are logging in daily in Samara and information is accurate with schedules, component pay, and trip sheets. Ensure unassigned hours are corrected in Samsara.• Monitor unsafe driving events. Promptly address concerns with the manager.• Clear unassigned HOS and coach dash cam events daily.• Assist with the maintenance of driver qualification files with current driver's license, physical and DMV proof of receipt.• Partner with the Transportation and Logistics Manager in providing CSA guidance and follow-up as it pertains to driver compliance with Department of Transportation regulations such as service (HOS) compliance, required rest times, driver fitness, controlled substances/alcohol, vehicle maintenance, and crash indicator.• Maintain DOT Roadside Checks and follow-ups for all roadside checks with violations.• Complete and document the required monthly safety observations/ride-along with drivers.• Participate in quarterly self-audit and review with Transportation and Logistics Manager.• Participates in driver accident investigations with the national distribution team.• Maintain safety records, OSHA logs, and post injuries in compliance with OSHA regulations.DISTRIBUTION OPERATIONS SUPPORT• Oversee the loading and delivery of products to our cafes in a safe and timely manner while ensuring safe food handling, storage, and proper temperature control measures are in place.• Partner with the Transportation & Logistics Manager to review weekly controllable expenses.• Assist the Transportation and Logistics Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, driver recovery, cover delivery routes, and load trucks as needed including but not limited to days off, vacations, and emergencies.DISTRIBUTION ASSOCIATE SUPERVISION• Provide support in the recruitment process such as reviewing applicants in the applicant tracking system, scheduling interviews, conducting road tests, sending candidate offers, and DOT pre-employment requirements in the system for truck drivers and checkers/loaders.• Assist with the driver setup in Workday and Learning Center required trainingcompliance with OSHA regulations.• Supervise work assignments and scheduling of checker loaders and truck drivers.FLEET MAINTENANCE SUPPORT• Coordinates scheduling equipment and maintenance needs with external vendors.• Examine and inspect the equipment for remote locations (if applicable).• Resolve any equipment issues as shown in the driver DVIR report.• Verify all vehicles have working cameras, vehicle gateways, and temp sensors.Qualifications (Education & Experience)• Maintain a valid Class A CDL with a 2-year medical card for route coverage as required.• A minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience with delivery food service is preferred.• Strong knowledge of current DOT/CSA laws.• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel• Experience with Samsara Logistics, EFS Fuel Management, and Smith System Driver training• Ability to work early morning and overnight dispatch times, weekends, and holidays as needed.Working Conditions• Required travel - 0-5%Physical Requirements• Stand, bend, kneel, climb, sit, talk, hear & use hands and fingers to operate the equipment as required.• Lift, push, or move products weighing up to 100 lbs. or more.Direct Reports• Truck Driver Lead, Truck Drivers, and Check LoadersOntario FDF
