Surround yourself with people who care about making a difference - come join us!We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Services Manager (EVS Manager) to join our Environmental Services department at The Vista. The EVS Manager is a hands on position including planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating, and controlling the activities of the EVS functions which are necessary in maintaining the building's physical environment in a clean and safe condition. The EVS Manager shall be accountable to the Director and Assistant Director of Environmental Services for planning and maintaining an effective organization, for administering labor and material controls, for training of EVS personnel in safety and for effective management practices. Responsible for all positions needed to expedite daily activities of the department including but not limited to: EVS Tech I, EVS Tech II, EVS Tech III, Lead Persons, EVS Supervisors, Laundry Aides, Washpersons, clerical support, outside vendors, contractors, and consultants. The Manager will also work directly with the Assistant Director of Environmental Services to assist and maintain major EVS-related projects or equipment implementation. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health. Competencies:Effectively schedules and directs work to the EVS department to assure timely completion of daily assignments, projects and events.Has an understanding of all areas and controls all supplies and equipment used in the EVS department.Coordinates the repair of EVS equipment or recommends the replacement of, additions to, equipment as necessary.Follows departmental Q.A. program by use of the daily audit tool.Prepares daily, weekly, and annual work calendars under guidance of the Director and schedules projects accordingly. Assists in written performance evaluations and corrective counseling as necessary. Inspects all areas of The Vista daily including guest suites, public areas, and empty apartments. Maintains inventory of supplies, including clean linens, and manages inventory by ordering or pickup/delivery. Trains/retrains EVS personnel. Ensures completion of new employee job specific orientation.Completes employee performance evaluations on a timely basis.Reviews and approves/denies departmental purchase requests as appropriate. Provides Director and Assistant Director with regular verbal/written feedback and reports. Adheres to budgeted staffing levels. Reports to Director/Assistant Director, and updates Executive Director, as needed, as to the physical conditions of the facility and the status of work in progress. Takes reasonable steps to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations and accrediting bodies related to area of responsibility.Develops, monitors, reports, and reviews Departmental Performance Improvement indicators in conjunction with PI staff, for appropriateness of study and timely completion. Actively serves on various committees as directed. Works closely with other departments and administration. Negotiates priorities, plans work schedules, makes job assignments, orders needed materials, supplies and parts. Recommends use of outside specialty contractors as circumstances indicate. Reviews employee scheduled and worked hours on a weekly basis, including oversight of usage of benefit time (sick, personal, vacation time). Identifies and resolves environmental issues involving the campus. Keeps abreast of current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards, and make recommendations on changes in programming/services and related policies and procedures. Attends scheduled/organizational meetings as required. Contributes to the Departmental Annual Report on a timely basis. Assists in preparation for, and participation in various regulatory and accreditation surveys. Develops, implements, reviews, and updates written departmental Policies and Procedure on a timely basis, as necessary. Ensures incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions are reported, utilizing CH reporting software as per policy. Must be able to be on-call as needed to support Environmental Services staff in need of assistance for all types of situations.
