An HR/Payroll Specialist job in Greensboro, NC is available with Storm Search. This is a Direct Hire job opportunity offering a competitive salary, excellent benefits package, and growth potential.LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLYThe HR/Payroll Specialist works in a team environment supporting multiple payroll processing in addition to other HR and benefit plan related duties.Some of the Responsibilities of the HR/Payroll Specialist include:Assist with payroll processing for weekly, bi-weekly, and supplemental payrolls.Serve as a day-to-day HR and payroll resource for assigned locations.Enter and/or approve employee changes or updates in UKG Pro as needed. Examples: new hires, life events, company to company transfers, maintenance of arrears and cash collections, and employee status changes (i.e. temporary to regular, part time to full time, etc.).Take reasonable measures to ensure data entered and/or approved is accurate, including communicating with facility HR staffs or Shared Services coworkers to ask questions about unusual situations.For assigned locations, maintain cash collections process to collect and account for benefit plan contributions for employees on leave of absence.For assigned locations, audit timecards weekly noting questions or discrepancies.Respond to inquiries from employees, retirees, COBRA participants, and facility HR staff on payroll, benefits and policy issues. Resolve concerns and provide interpretations of policies and/or plans. Refer unresolved issues to the manager or appropriate SME (subject matter expert).Maintain sound knowledge of the company's policies and benefit plans.Assist with year-end processing and other year-end payroll and benefit reporting requirements.Assist as needed with payroll tax reporting and compliance.Assist with special projects related to compensation, benefits, and payroll as needed.Stay abreast of payroll updates, changes and best practices related to UKG Pro and WFM systems.As needed, perform various administrative duties.Some of the Requirements/Qualifications of the HR/Payroll Specialist include:Working knowledge of US payroll regulations.Very organized and detail-oriented; able to prioritize and work across simultaneous projects and work responsibilities.Excellent communication skills - ability to work effectively in a team environmentAnalytical - ability to consider downstream impacts of employee changesProficient with Microsoft Office, including ExcelExperience with UKG Pro is preferred
